Kitchen Table Talks: Health Equity for the Next Generation

As part of the new My Sister’s Keeper initiative from the Center of Excellence in Faith and Health Equity at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, we will host a panel discussion with young adult women on the topic "Health Equity for the Next Generation."  Panelists include Dr. Fedoria Rugless, Research Assistant Professor at the University of Memphis; Jeneba Winfrey-Porter, Director of Medical Operations at Church Health, Aramis Jones, Community Health Outreach Specialist at Friends for Life; and Andrea Jacobo, Community Health Organizer. Radio personality Christie B. Taylor will moderate the panel. My Sister's Keeper prioritizes the voices, perspectives, and wisdom of black women to address health disparities that affect black women, and celebrates a holistic, faith-based vision of healing. This event is the first in a series of "Kitchen Table Talks," a culturally relevant and historic community-defined practice of creating safe spaces for the exploration of significant issues impacting the health of black women.
